Digital product passport (DPP)

The digital product passport (DPP) is the set of structured data about a product, accessible by electronic means, foreseen by the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (EU) 2024/1781.

Reviewed on

The data each product must carry are specified through delegated acts per product group, so its real scope depends on each one. At the review date, the Commission plans the first acts for iron and steel, then textiles and aluminium, with an application period of at least 18 months. The battery passport comes from a separate regulation and is mandatory from 18 February 2027.
