Primary data

Primary data are values measured or collected directly from the specific process or supplier, instead of database averages.

Reviewed on

Examples are the energy use of a plant, the scrap of a process or the real composition of a material. When they exist they replace generic data and improve accuracy; when they do not, the calculation falls back on secondary data from recognised sources.
