LRQA verification what it means for your certificate.

That Xain's methodology is ISO 14067-certified and verified by LRQA means an independent body has checked, with limited assurance under ISO 14064-3, that the tool has been prepared in line with the principles of ISO 14067, cradle-to-gate, for the Annex A sectors. The statement is delivered with each product certificate.

When a customer receives a footprint certificate, the logical question is who backs it. At Xain the answer has two parts: a standard, ISO 14067, and an independent body that has verified the method, LRQA.

What is LRQA?

LRQA, Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, is an independent verification and certification body. Its independence matters: it does not depend on Xain or its customers.

What has it verified?

The “Product and Service Xain Technology Tool, v1.0”, cradle-to-gate. The verification is limited assurance under ISO 14064-3:2019 that the tool has been prepared in line with the principles of ISO 14067:2018, for the Annex A sectors. The statement carries reference LRQA SGI00002916 and was signed on 24 June 2025.

Which sectors does Annex A cover?

  • Plastics: injection, extrusion and machining.
  • Textiles and apparel.
  • Beverages.
  • Metal products.
  • Aluminium.
  • Consulting.
  • Events.
  • Vehicle cleaning and maintenance.

Xain also calculates outside that list (for example thermoforming, 3D printing or agri-food) with the same methodology in line with ISO 14067, without attributing that part to the LRQA verification.

What does it mean for a certificate?

  • The method is backed: every footprint is calculated with a verified methodology, not a bespoke procedure.
  • There is traceability: each certificate carries a registration number and lets you follow the calculation down to the factor of each node.
  • It is consistent across certificates: the same engine and the same rules apply to the first one and to the ten-thousandth.
  • The statement accompanies the certificate: according to LRQA, the assurance statement is only valid when published with the Product GHG emissions Certificate to which it refers. That is why it is delivered with each certificate and is not published alone on this page.

Where can the declaration be read?

The full statement is delivered with the corresponding product certificate. It is only reproduced in full, without fragments or extracts.

To understand the standard it relies on, read ISO 14067.
