Carbon footprint API from ERP to certificate, with no middlemen.
Xain offers a REST API to connect your ERP or other systems to the same certified engine used by email and the web platform. You send purchase lines or products and receive the calculation and the certificate with its registration number and traceability, ready to plug into your processes.
Key figures
2–3h
of calculation per product in the Xain engine.
2–3days
working days until you have the verified product certificate.
How it works
How does the integration work?
You send the data
Purchase lines, bills of materials or product references from your system.
The engine calculates
With the same process tree and physical factors as the other channels.
You receive the result
Value, breakdown and certificate with a unique registration number.
You integrate it
Store it in your system or share it with your customer.
If you already generate every day what Xain needs (purchase lines, bills of materials, product references), there is no point copying it by hand. The API lets the data travel from your ERP to the engine and come back as a certificate, with no manual steps.
What is a footprint API for?
Two common cases. If you buy, to measure procurement Scope 3 on a recurring basis from your purchase lines. If you make or sell, to issue the footprint of each product or shipment without anyone having to prepare a submission. In both cases the result is stored where you need it.
What do you receive?
The same result as in the other channels: a value per unit, the calculation boundary (cradle to gate), the ISO 14067 standard and a certificate with a unique registration number and traceability down to the factor of each node. It is a method verified by LRQA.
Why one engine and three channels?
Because the calculation should not depend on how the data arrives. If you start by email today and move to the API tomorrow, the criterion is the same and the certificates are comparable. And because it is software, the cost of each additional certificate is marginal.
How do you start?
Tell us what system you use and what you want to automate. The usual approach is to start with a few products or categories to validate the flow and widen it afterwards. Write to us and we will point out the steps.
Frequently asked questions
What companies usually ask before getting started.
What channels are there to use Xain?
Three: email, the self-service web platform and the REST API for ERP. All three use the same certified engine and return the same kind of certificate.
What do I need to integrate it?
To be able to export purchase lines, bills of materials or product references from your system, and someone in IT to manage the connection. We agree the technical details at the start.
Does the calculation change by channel?
No. The method, factors and traceability are the same. Only how you send the data and receive the result changes.
Where is the API technical documentation?
It is provided when the integration project starts. Write to us and we will tell you the next steps.

Product footprint
Certify your product’s carbon footprint with an ISO 14067 method verified by LRQA, from your technical documentation, with registration and traceability.
Scope 3 for purchases
Measure purchased-goods Scope 3 (Categories 1 and 2) with physical factors. Xain Insight needs only the ERP spreadsheet: less than 10 minutes.
ISO 14067
ISO 14067 is the standard that sets how to quantify and communicate a product carbon footprint. What it requires, what cradle-to-gate is and how Xain uses it.
