An environmental product declaration (EPD) is a verified Type III document, under ISO 14025, that reports the environmental performance of a product based on an LCA and on product category rules.
It includes several environmental indicators, not only carbon, and it is published under a programme that sets the rules. It is broader and slower than a product carbon footprint and is widely used in construction; each answers a different question.
